Not sure why people convert... To follow Buddha you need not convert, you can still follow him and his principles. Did Buddha Convert to anything? He found a way to get enlightened. Every Human has the same capabilites. We need to find the way to get to preak of spirituality not convert.

Dalits should convert to Islam, which gives maxmum fear to Upper caste people. 15 % Muslim and 15% Dalits will be total 30% population. With high fertility rate their population will be 40% in few decades. That will be perfect situation to exert influence and dalits will get one last opportunity to take revenge of thousand years atrocities. Till Upper caste do not start fearing dalits, atrocities against them will continue. Islam might will not provide salvation to dalits but it is only religion which can provide them an opportunity of violent revenge.
