Ban or not, Chinese manja widely used in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: Ignoring a court ban on the use of ‘Chinese manja’, many residents freely used it across the city. The worst hit were birds, with at least 50 cases of injuries reported. While the cases on record were those of birds rescued, volunteers estimate that another 200 birds might have perished or their cases not reported at all during the Sankranti period.
As per the court directive, selling, storing or use of Chinese and glass coated manja is banned across the country.
Forest authorities and the anti-poaching squad nabbed over 150kg of Chinese manja from several areas in the city on Sankranti. Another 350kg of were seized from other districts.
People importing Chinese Manjha, people allowing imports of Chinese Manjha, people helping in payments of Chinese Manjha should be prosecuted with immediate effect.
Spineless indians will change moms if theyr cheap made in china ….shame china collects our money and uses againsts us and v indians r wasting time
Lack of awareness amongst retail customers and price factor are the key reasons!

Usage of Chinese manja or glass coating is clearly cheating. The real test of your kite flying skills is when you use cotton manja. So over enthusiastic kids need to be advised against these manjas to protect birds.
Believe it or not people in India are more self-centered – social concerns and national issues are only to update and to keep in fashion over social media, not to follow. Isn’t it Ture?
why catch the sellers????? the SC should have banned the import of Chinese manja. the customs knew about the ban , why did they let it through? if they didn’t let it through, then they didn’t do their jobs by checking the containers and content lists. what’s the point
What s wrong with Chinese…and what about the custom check..why was this not caught…serous action needa to be taken!!!
with my indian manja, nearly 50 to 60 could be injured in one day by me… god bless them
Thats coz of corruption in customs who allow import of such risky items, And the corpopration inspectors who allow it to be sold for a quid pro quo!!!
Listen To Me
B 4 Chinese manja people even died of Indian manja.height of hypocrisy.
