BEIJING: China's foreign ministry has rejected President-elect Donald Trump's suggestion that he might use support of Taiwan as a bargaining chip in future negotiations between the two sides.
Spokesman Lu Kang said Sunday that the "one China" policy is "non-negotiable" and the political foundation of the US-China relationship. Since recognizing Beijing in 1979, Washington has maintained only unofficial ties with Taiwan, the self-governing island that Beijing considers its territory.
But since winning the November election, Trump has said he would consider that policy in a discussion about trade and other issues.
He told The Wall Street Journal in an interview published Friday that "everything is under negotiation, including 'one China.'''
Beijing has repeatedly pushed back against any suggested reconsideration of Taiwan, which it considers a core national interest.
ROFL! Ch1nese were so preoccupied with supporting their all weather friend''s P0rk1s in order to pull down 1ndia, that they forgot that competition can come from anywhere. This is a good lesson for them. Other countries will be their allies as long as they are useful to them. Since they have stolen all jobs from Americans, the President-elect is determined that they will be punished for that. Now all those CPEC or One-Silk roads have suddenly become useless.
They stole jobs of Americans? How different are we Indians?
Do you know the ratio of jobs created by hardcore manufacturing to that of the services?
India must insist on One India policy
Chinese Bhastards. Their arrogance will be their downfall
This China-Taiwan issue is similar to India-POK issue. with the exception that Taiwan doesnt send terrorist into china.
Same way there is no negotiation and compromise on one India ..if china still ignore then china forget one china policy.. we will declare taiwan as a independent country and recognise also
