Bengaluru molestation: Police finds ‘credible evidence,’ registers FIR
BENGALURU: Three days after the New Year eve revelry turned into a nightmare for several women who were allegedly molested at a large gathering in city’s downtown area, police today claimed to have found “credible” evidence of molestation and have registered an FIR.
As the incidents drew widespread outrage with no action from the police, Bengaluru’s new Commissioner of Police, Praveen Sood through a series of tweets tonight, said his team was working on the case silently.
“As promised we have found credible evidence repeat credible evidence in a case of wrongful confinement, molestation and attempt to rob,” Sood had said in a tweet.
“We have taken action by registering an FIR. Investigation is in progress. Police is working…. though silently,” he had said in another tweet.
India comes first in rapes, molestations, groping, than any other country. That”s why tourists fear to visit India.
I have lived in europe us and australia. Molestation happens but is very very low compared to that in india. You are looking at isolated incidents on youtube and google. In india it happens too often.
Is the quality of the video footage good enough to nab the culprits? If not, police may just arrest some scapegoats to hush up the issue. Govt and cops know that everybody will forget about it after a few days
Set an example by finding and punishing culprits. Catch the ones having political support too.

One rapist weapon is cut as a punishment and i bet not a single rape will occur in future
This is in blood of average Indian Men. We consider a man cool if he teases a girl. Don”t agree? Look at our comedy shows or movies. We need to respect all genders. If a man can wear anything in public, then why not women. Can”t suggest even to punish these people, these are everywhere.
I couldn’t understand our Indian police system.
why do police always wait for someone to register formal complaint?. can’t they take immediate action? what all these 3 days they were doing?
If they were proactive, such incidents wouldn’t happened in Bangalore.
This kind of gathering of drunkards & rogues at one place should be banned specially on new year eve.
if women do not want to be molested then ladies should celebrate separately.
