BEIJING : China's military says its first aircraft carrier group has carried out a series of fighter launch, recovery and air combat exercises in the Yellow Sea amid tensions with the US and Taiwan.
The Defense Ministry announced late Friday that the Liaoning carrier group conducted the drills in the Yellow Sea in recent days and is scheduled to continue exercises farther afield. It did not specify where.
Beijing has said the carrier would be used mostly for training and research.
China is a showoff. Its ego gets inflated with every string of pearl, such as Gwadar/CPEC, that it acquires, or every new weapon that gets into its arsenal. Obviously China''s defense policy is offense not defense oriented. China is showing similar overconfidence and arrogant behaviour like Germany before WW2. India needs to shed its subservient "minimum deterrence" mindset, and replace it with a more muscular "make my day" type mindset - at least in a defensive context.
Chiina is already a super power, way ahead of US or Russia.
Even this Liaoning a Russian built carrier and it is not even nuclear and does not even have magnetic catapult...- Sure, China is a superpower...
Weak display their strength in public. The wise and strong knows that time will reveal. Chinese nukes are inferior. They will burst in their own land before they take off. Ha ha!
Chinese haven''t mastered the use of aircraft carrier yet...We have been using carriers since over 4 decades...

Good luck to the CCP if it thinks that a warship from the WWII era & stolen from the Russians via Ukraine is gonna scare the US & others
Again barking only. Chest thumping but no substance. China will never confront directly, they are best are cowardly game of proxy war through Pakistan, North Korea
Validation of armaments is a regular training event in any organisation. Concepts of aircraft carriers were important during earlier wars. Future Naval battle procedures may need enhanced survivability parameters to augment commensurate lethality!
