China’s Shenzhou 11 manned spacecraft has successfully docked with China’s Tiangong 2 space lab and two astronauts have entered, according to China’s official news agency Xinhua.
China is the third country after the United States and Russia to complete space rendezvous and docking procedures, Xinhua said.
A short video posted on Twitter by The People’s Daily, showed Jing Haipeng and Chen Dong floating inside the space lab.
According to the mission schedule, the astronauts will remain in the space station for 30 days and spend a total of 33 days in space, making the mission the longest in space so far for China.
uncle scam denied chinese role in gps, now china has their own beido,
uncle scam vehemently blocked chinese participation in the skylab project, now the chinese have their own version.
uncle scam ordered intel to stop selling cpu to chinese super computer maker, now china produce super computer powered by their own chip,
thank you very much uncle scam,
without your 'help', china might still be at the mercy of washington in these vital technology !
Forget the socialpolitical or strategic implications of this story, what I demand to know is how do you eat rice with chopsticks in zero gravity?
China spends only $2.2bn a year on their space programme. Meanwhile, how many trillions has the US spent waging senseless wars?
If all that money had been channeled to the space industry, we could have had space settlements on the moon and be mining asteroids.
XD! The US now has more powerful reasons to put money in space and NASA.
To say the truth, I'm glad to see the US and China can work together in space someday. But I also know it is quite difficult for the two countries to take the first step.
At least they can send astronauts into space themselves unlike Obama's NASA, the satellite launching agency...
Yes, it really stings, scrapping the Space Shuttle before a replacement was ready, or will ever be ready perhaps. Most of NASA budget goes on pensions and salaries now.
'China insists its space programme is for peaceful purposes'.
So does the US and Russia, but they are lying as well.
Way to go China.
Do you know? I did not know China had a space station. I thought the only one was the ISS!
I'd like to hear more about it.
United States Department of Defense had refused the request of China's participation in the international space station. And now, this is no longer the case. China may appreciate the United States.03
