A scenic spot in central China has opened an impressive sightseeing escalator to take tourists down a mountain.
The 688-metre-long (2,260 feet) machine, branded as the world's longest sightseeing escalator, is located in Hubei province and allows visitors to see the sights during the 18-minute journey, reports the People's Daily Online.
Climbing plants have been added in the hope that the escalators will blend into the environment in the future.
The formidable escalator is located in Enshi Grand Canyon just outside of Enshi city.
It cost some 36 million to build (£4.3 million) and takes 18 minutes to travel from start to finish.
Around 7,300 people can be transported every hour from the top of the site right down to the canyon.
