But as soon as this boy in China comes home from school, he spends hours making ten thousand dumplings to help support his family.
His parents work in a factory in another city which means he is looked after by his elderly grandparents who sell dumplings, reports Huanqiu, an affiliation with the People's Daily Online.
Eight-year-old Liu Minghui lives in a village near the city of Ruijin, China's Jiangxi province with his grandparents.
His mother and father are migrant workers in another city, reports China Daily.
To support his grandparents, Liu Minghui comes home from school and helps them make wontons, a type of dumpling.
The boy can make around 10,000 wontons in a single day.

10,000 dumplings, in say, a ten hour working day. And taking into consideration he goes to school. That is a lot dumplings per hour or minute. Then 10,000 dumplings at 50 cents???? a dumpling. Not a bad income.

All I can say is if they sell all the dumplings then they are not that badly off, maybe they have to pay for the child's education out of it though

Oh, grow up. This is poverty. One day, he'll be a businessman or a doctor and will support his family in their old age. Better than we do.

What people don't hear nor see is also while he helps his grandparents, they cultivate important family values such as respect for your elders, while they work together making the produce that they only know how to, they share daily happenings and promote communal gathering.
