NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday lavished praised on India's Olympic contingent, and asked them to give their best during the remainder of the competition. The PM had said he didn't want to wait till Independence Day to talk about India's Olympic athletes, in response to cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar's request that he do so.
"India is phenomenally proud of all our athletes in Rio and their hard work that got them there," Modi tweeted. The PM added that the athlete's "endurance, determination and dedication" had made their country proud.
8月13日，莫迪总理发表溢美之词，赞扬印度的奥运代表团，希望他们在接下来的比赛尽力。
莫迪在推特上说，“印度为参加里约奥运的本国运动员感到自豪，为他们为了来到奥运而付出的努力感到自豪。”

I''m embarrassed theyre laughing at us on international forums ,our athletes are losers and the facilities here suck,when singapore and Hungary have gold medals but we can''t even get a medal,we shouldnt even send a team for the Tokyo olympics,might as well tax payer money on something useful

If our earlier governments over the last 60 years, had better planning & vision (like the Chinese), this wud not have been our plight at the Olympics!
Lets face it, we at almost 1.3 billion people, are nearly one-fifth of humanity, and are not likely to get more than 2 or 3 medals, if at all.
It sounds harsh, but we have become the laughing stock, amongst people from all other countries.
