China reveals record-breaking supercomputer is world’s fastest – and says it doesn’t use a single US component
A Chinese supercomputer has topped a list of the world’s fastest computers for the seventh straight year — and for the first time the winner uses only Chinese-designed processors instead of U.S. technology.
The Sunway TaihuLight can run quadrillions of calculations per second, and is the first system to exceed more than 100 petaflops at peak performance.
Monday’s announcement marks a new milestone for Chinese supercomputer development and a further erosion of past U.S. dominance of the field.

No, but it uses lots of chips made in China and copied from American chip designs that were being made there under contract, right?! 🙂

Chinese are everywhere in US including Univs, Govt Agencies, they are spreading faster the sting bugs here in US, which is BTW from China too. Dont you think they take all secrets from here to China on latest technology and make a replica with minor changes.

Correction. It doesn’t use a single US component that it legally acquired.

Von Braun had nothing to do with the development of the jet engine.

Notice that they claimed “no US parts”, but they didn’t say “all Chinese parts” – that probably means that the most critical parts came from Japan and/or South Korea.
I can see the jealousy from Americans and western people, they did not steal western technology because Americans banned Chinese technicians, sceintists and researchers from U.S, the world fastest supercompuer is all made in China, this is why Roman Empire fell, because they’re too proud of themselves and ignorants

LOL! “Americans banned Chinese technicians, scientists and researchers from the US” – Do you have ANY clue as to how many tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of Chinese have earned bachelors, master’s, and doctorate degrees at American universities over the last few decades?

@webfoot : what is yr point? I think American universities came after the Oxford & Cambridge. The Brits do it better!

I saw tons of Chinese students at the computer labs at my university though…lots…
