Inside China’s battered buses that have been transformed into £20-a-night ‘love hotel’ rooms aimed at couples
Converting old buses into affordable ‘love hotels’ has turned out to be a big hit with young holidaymakers in China.
The lodgings are designed especially for young couples who can now find their home away from home inside an old, disused public bus.
While the exterior of the vehicles may still seem unappealing, more than a dozen old buses parked in a tourist hotspot in Taiyuan, capital of North China’s Shanxi Province, are anything but unattractive on the inside.
With officials having spent some 100,000 Yuan (£10,370) refurbishing the interior of the vehicles, each bus now resembles a quality hotel room, complete with a TV, air-conditioning, kitchenette, and bathroom.
Prices start at an affordable 200 Yuan (£20) a night for rooms, which have been decorated based on themes such as popular animated characters including Hello Kitty and Doraemon to attract many young holiday-goers.
