MADRID: The billionaire founder of Chinese conglomerate Tiens Group treated 3,000 of his top salespeople Friday to a traditional Spanish paella dinner during a free Madrid trip that also included a bullfight and a tour of King Felipe VI's Royal Palace.
The smiling crowds washed down heaping plates of paella with sangria at a massive spread of picnic tables in a riverside park during the event footed by Li Jinyuan and organized by China's U Tour travel company.
Spain was selected for this year's bonus trip for the workers because they "are fond of Spanish history and culture, and its delicious cuisine and its soccer," said Li Zhongmin, the company founder's son.
U Tour deputy manager Zhang Xilai said the tour for the group of mostly health care products salespeople cost 7 million euros ($8 million).
The trip came a year after Li took 6,400 employees to France.
Reliance Employees working for the wrong Billionaire.... lol... they are made to work 14 hrs a day for 6 days a week and even abused by their management...
Reliance will never arrange for such trips. Kanjoos. He or any other Indian business house ever will think of such things.
Hi, A diamond merchant in Surat gave away cars to his best employees.
WoW that''s Cool :-)
Very good employer.....
This has become a trend in Chinese business fraternity, offering vacation in exotic European locations. This has made China as most sought after country for European nations to lure for tourism.
Spending for the pleasure of the employees is an investment. It is they who generate productivity. A good news.
Instead of the trip costing 7 million usd , why not distribute this money amongst employees ? They will get to do what they want with it --and that money will be better spent for the family by them Trips like these make only for head lines and publicity --but giving money to families has more utility
Thoroughly confused! Western media used to portray all Chinese worker are forced slaves, working in terrible conditions, almost no pay, hungry and tired all the time, factories had to install barbed wired on dormitory windows to prevent workers from jumping to commit suicide, .... a living hell compared with, say India''s workers. Then this news, even with pictures! What''s the truth?
