WASHINGTON: A Wisconsin federal jury on Friday slapped a $940 million penalty, including $700 million in punitive damages, on Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for allegedly stealing healthcare software from an American company, Epic Systems.
The verdict is one of the most adverse handed down to an Indian company abroad. The software giant said it would appeal against it, as it can within 30 days of the trial judgment under US law.
TCS said it had not misused or derived any benefit from documents downloaded from Epic System's user web portal.
TCS表示并未滥用或从下载来的文件中获得任何利益，这些文件是从 Epic System的用户门户网下载来的。
Excellent! Indian crooks thinks that they are protected in India by mafia governments so that can do anything anywhere!
Well US judiciary is very strict...TCS should have been more careful not indulging in such fraudulant activities...every company has its own talents...we cannot go and steal somebody else's bread...that is too bad...
Nationalize TCS. They're NOT selling software; They're selling software engineers to clients;
one or few employee are destroying the credibility of Tata... indians will be indians..... copier, plagiarist, and cheats..... so these when they go global the habit die hard...
TCS is one great company and it will be. The matter is still subjudice so lets not draw conclusions by just reading an article. US is already jealous by the way we have progressed in the IT sector, they cant see any Indian company grow. These are all blantent lies by Epic..lets hold our horses.
May be TCS had not done anything as American's have so many history of foul accusing to outsider companies like TCS
So many US based companies breaking labour laws India. Why no cases against them?
Very bad and wrong decision. American judges and judiciary are anti India.
TCS in big trouble. They thought they would get away with copy paste job. This time they are caught and caught red handed. They will have to pay for their misadventure.
The copy paste practice of Indians dangerous for India image!!!
i thought this robbery happens only in indian movies but now here too. these crooks if found guilty must not be spared
