Make in India is a flop. But what surprises is how the US sells F16s to pak and manages to make sales to India too. When there is a war between india and pak , the American toys occupy the air space from both ends. Business out of a political condition by the strongest military country.

stupid govt. why not invest more in r&d and create a centre for defence intelligence where brightest of bright indians will work to develop advanced fighter aircrafts. pay good salaries to such indians then see where india goes

It's very disheartening to find a nation that can build space craft, intercontinental balistic missiles, nuclear -powered submarines, aircraft carriers, trains, trucks, cars, IT software etc, but still can't get either a civilian or military aircraft built locally. These hugely expensive foreign aircraft will cripple India's defence capabilities - especially with their huge maintenance costs. It will frighten India's enemies to see 5000 Tejas swarming at them in anger than 200 sparingly used foreign prima donnas pretending to look menacing.
F-16s to Pakistan and F-18s to India. US is playing us and ho that we get involved in a hopeless armament acquisition loop. Better for India to put its money into the more advanced Russia-India PAKFA project to ensure defense sovereignty and to ensure that we avoid dependence on America.
