At the time of Independence, India had a massive lead over China in terms of total track length. Today, China’s network is 150% of India’s, it does not have a railways ministry and has added 21,943 kms of rail network since 1947.

Our ministers are just members of a political party and everything they do always stinks of gimmick. For a proper and plausible approach one must lead from the front with in depth study which is hardly done in India. The prime preference of Every Minister appears to enroll as many of his followers especially from his constituency and State in his realm which has a disastrous effect as quality is severely compromised.
