Villagers pee in open, fined Rs 500 each
BIJNOR: Two Bijnor villagers on Monday earned the dubious distinction of being the first in the area to be fined Rs 500 each for urinating in public. The fine was imposed by the panchayat of Mithan Kunwar Pratap village under the Panchayati Raj Act.
The two people on whom the fine was imposed belong to the same family and were not using the toilet in their house constructed under a government scheme. The fine was levied a day after the district magistrate visited the village, 15 km from Bijnor, on Sunday.
well done, municipal corporations and panchayats need to come up with these ideas to reduce or elimimate open defecation.
Haha now release their photo of their faces only lets make them famous
The Pee Kings
Well done panchayat . Shame on the two fellows for peeing in public
Good move. This should be implemented in other parts of the country
Well only with hefty fine people will stop this nonsense activity
First the infrastructure then the fine will be good option
sir first give the toilets
Canot prevent peeing without constructing toilet. You can’t shut call of nature by law.
This is a nation of uncivilized, unruly, uncouth people ,must stop now.,punishment is must
Very good start. If the law enforcers do their job honestly, every village / town can become mini-Singapores. But our politicos will not let this happen. They will let the offenders get away with half penalty without receipt!!
Peeing in public has been our national habit. We would change it only when we get stringent punishment. Cheers to the panchayat-concerned
