ANTALYA (Turkey): Turkey has cancelled a multi-billion-dollar deal with China to build its first anti- missile system that had alarmed Ankara's allies in Nato, a Turkish official said today.
"The deal was cancelled," the official from Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu's office said.
"One of the main reasons is that we will launch our own national missile project," added the official.
Obama must have convinced Turkey to ditch the Chinese. It is blow to Chinese international ambitions

Less of Business with China is the only solution to teach them a lesson...
you can't teach them a lesson just by cancelling few contracts.
US alone is the $500bn trade partner of China, Russia is around $100 bn trade partner of China, India is $70 bn trade partner of China, African countries is a $300 bn Trade partner of China, EU is $300 bn trade partner of China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, etc. All of them are still trading heavily with China. So $4.3 bn is nothing for economic powerhouse Like China. And neither of the above countries can ignore business with China as China is the potential market of everyone of them.
Look at the business between Russia and US. Their relation is at the lowest point since the cold war, but still doing business in many areas. And relation of other countries with China is not at the lowest point.
wooww. a slap to China's overambitious plans n trying to b a world power
y??? safety is must
US will like to ensure that Turkey buys missiles from "US Only" and no one else.
Perhaps they have now realized that "Made in China" is not good enough
NATO has said missile systems within the alliance must be compatible with each other while calling on Turkey to take this factor into account.
what a world where we need missiles, anti-missile equipment and all... if only people are peaceful and not greedy, we all could happily live and grow together...
China has been growing too big for its shoes , its time world unite against this communist country
India should also develop and sale such weapons and make money
