India has long way to go to match China’s role in Asia-Pacific
UNITED NATIONS: India has a “long way” to go before it matches China’s role in the Asia-Pacific region’s trade and investment flows and the country’s success will depend on its ability to speed up implementation of necessary structural reforms, a UN report said.
The Asia-Pacific Trade and Investment Report 2015 by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific said India faces various structural bottlenecks, including delays in project approval, ill-targeted subsidies, a low manufacturing base and low agricultural productivity, difficulty in land acquisition, weak transportation and power networks, strict labour regulations and skill mismatches.
The report added that in 2014, India attracted FDI inflows amounting to USD 34 billion, a 22 per cent increase.
The UN report by far is quite fair in her assessment of Sino-Indian Biz climate!!
Indian Biz climate is still undergoing major change, but faced with hurdles from some shortsighted politician, who for their narrow gain, are blocking the nation’s growth.
If this scenario doesn’t change ASAP, it will be difficult to match China.
Will never able to match given the way we conduct ourselves
Hey we know, but don’t worry, as soon as we settle this ‘cow thing’ we will be catching up with not only China but my be even the US
True and the blame lies with 60 years of congress’s miss rule.
Very True & the current “Pull Down” act by the Opposition for the Govt. will make it even more difficult! Was easier for a Single Party China!

India may never be a match for China in South Pacific and the Indian Ocean region, India will need the support of the USA, which is the only nation that can stand up to the highhandedness of a beliggerant China.
China is way ahead of India. …China is competing with USA. …yesterday China made passenger Jet
Having seen them in the Middle East and to draw a comparison between a Chinese and an India, Indians have the talents in managerial skills. Also we Indians are too arguing in nature. Chinese on the contrary are better built and are task masters. specially in the infrastructure or manufacturing sectors. You give them the job they finish before the deadline
Indians are very talented ppl compare to chinese, its just that tey need to put their knowledge wisely
Very true assessment and rightly pointed out that India has a long way to go and to match China = be it manufacturing, Infrastructure, Sports etc.
Big Brand scare to come to India, since their brand value may go off if it is Made in India product. We need to concentrate to improve Brand value of India.
