BEIJING: The new Prime Minister of Nepal KP Sharma Oli is "pro-China" and is "expected to keep closer ties" with the Communist nation despite Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts to boost ties with it, according to the Chinese official media.
"(Prime Minister Narendra) Modi has made efforts to develop friendly relations with neighbouring countries since he came to office (in May last year). This has contributed to the change of diplomatic landscape of South Asian nations," an said an article in the State-run Global Times.
据《环球时报》报道，尽管莫迪总理努力促进与尼泊尔的关系，然而尼泊尔新总理KP Sharma Oli是亲华的，预计会与中国保持更密切的关系。
"Instead of keeping a distance from India, they (South Asian nations) are gradually moving to strike a balance between India and China. This is the broad regional environment Nepal is facing. Despite this, Kathmandu under Oli's governance is expected to keep closer ties with Beijing," added the article titled 'Nepal warms toward China as new Beijing-friendly coalition takes power'.
The article, written just five days after the new government took over in Nepal, said the previous coalition government headed by Nepali Congress Party was "customarily perceived as pro-India" while Oli is "pro-China".
Now do hell with Nepal they are the back stabbers and china tries to capture India with taking Nepal under its command, now no Nepalese should allowed to enter in India without valid passport and reason to come India.
Nepal if it decides to have close links with China then possibly, the country will slide to the situation of Pakistan and North Korea
Dont think it will make a difference.. Nepal will realize it when they have 100,000 chinese in their country running everything and destroying their local economy... More over, India gives Nepalis right to walk into India and get a job... China will never do it..... All India has to do is stop this right and let's see if China allows the Nepalis to even cross the border without a permit.
If Nepal wants to end up like Tibet than joy to Nepalis. Chinas only agenda is to grab land and oceans from all its neighbours.
Without any doubt New Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli is 'pro-China' but he can't ignore India.
Soon India will have some new friends in south china sea ! Even politically and economically strong ..!!
Best of luck to him. Soon the dragon might attack him
I hope not. I am worried. Not because Nepal is building relations with China, but because of this mistrust between Nepal and India.
I hope and wish that Govt does something to reverse the damage. I have always seen Nepal as most friendly country.
