Will not tolerate foreign interference: Maldives
MALE: Amid international pressure over imprisonment of opposition leader Mohamed Nasheed, Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen on Sunday bluntly told external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj that his government will not tolerate “foreign parties” to interfere in domestic issues.
The assertion was made by Yameen when Swaraj called on him on Sunday during her visit to the island nation during which the two nations restarted the Joint Commission talks after a hiatus of 15 years.
“President Yameen stated that this government will not tolerate foreign parties to interfere with the country’s domestic issues, and underscored that a country’s integrity and national sovereignty must be respected by all,” his office said in a statement.
Yameen should remember what happened to Rajapaksha who played with India beleiveing China…. India is not under MMS or Congress anymore……. soon he will vanish like Rajapaksha .
India must continue to have stronger ties with Maldives. A deterrence to China against spreading her wings in this area.
and yet another country tells india to mind your own business
It looks MODI JIS foreign policy as well as internal policies both generating more ENEMIES rather than FRIENDS. ..Maldives..Nepal..etc…
Know… it doubts whether it’s 56 inch or 5 to 6 inch..
Ofcourse, but China is allowed in any which way possible. India should be Wary of this Threat.
Sushmaji is capable and shrewd politician who knows how to tackle the situation in our favour.
India should take this nation and install a true democratic government
mind your own business Mrs swaraj

After nepal now maldives gives its version of relationship to india. Modis foreign trips bringing bad name to india
Yes, no one would like to have interference from outside unless otherwise it is requested! But one need to respect each other and keep good relationships so that there will be helping hand at testing times!
small nation can not stop foreign influence
let the Maldives go to hell then … anyway they will be submerged in a few years due to global warming
Even small countries who used to depend on India for everything including foreign policy direction have now stated telling us on face that they won’t take any more bullying from us. Our foreign policy, particularly of the current government’s has failed in Nepal, Maldives and Lankan.
even Maldives now have the guts to take India like this… India should better come with aggressive foreign policies.
