WASHINGTON: The US has said it is committed to India's inclusion as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, days after the General Assembly adopted a negotiating text for the long-pending reforms of the powerful wing of the world body.
The reaffirmation from the US comes in the backdrop of the maiden India US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue which was held on Tuesday.
美国表示其致力于让印度成为安理会常任理事国。这一世界机构的有力翅膀的改革长期悬而未决，几天前，联合国大会为此采纳了一份谈判文本。

What a sham this baiting of India that the United States is indulging in! The US knows dang well that neither it, nor any of the other four in that Private Club of theirs, the UN, want anybody else sharing in their exclusive stom grounds! India will NEVER get a seat on the UNSC. Not because we do not deserve it, but because these fellow would never allow it! One or the other, including the United States, are going to spike it at the opportune moment, and we will still be looking out for the next chance to make it on the Council. Better to follow the example of Israel and plain ignore this toothless organization, and just concentrate on our economic interests and furthering our sphere of influence. The UN be danged.
