Japan expands military's role, China decries move
TOKYO: Japan's parliament voted into law on Saturday a defence policy shift that could let troops fight overseas for the first time since 1945, a milestone in Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's push to loosen the limits of the pacifist constitution on the military.
Abe says the shift, the biggest change in Japan's defence policy since the creation of its post-war military in 1954, is vital to meet new challenges such as from a rising China.
But the legislation has triggered massive protests from ordinary citizens and others who say it violates the pacifist constitution and could ensnare Japan in US-led conflicts after 70 years of post-war peace. Abe's ratings have also taken a hit.
India should strengthen security ties with Japan and other Asian Nations surrounding China!
Japan, India and Vietnam should sign tripartite defense pact to protect from Chinese expansionism. There are lot of synergies within the 3.
Why is china crying now , you created a situation for them to resurect .. China is showing a sinilar behavior like pacist japan .
good move by japs
China will face a lot of problems in the near future the way it is going with its development
This is a necessary step to thwart China's military adventure...
Japan made the right decision.
GOOD FOR INDIA.CHINA FEARS JAPAN.OLD MEMORIES.
China should be isolated from Asian countries till they stop aggression
That is good move by Japan. They should not be worried criticism by China because it is their habit to criticize other nations who does not listen to them. Japan you should make your own tactical weapons and missile delivery system to match China, the biggest trouble maker in region and once you have your own weapons you do not have to listen any BS from tin horn country North Korea.
China is a power to reckon with today. even US fears it.
