NEW DELHI: Notwithstanding frequent troop face-offs along the Line of Actual Control, including the recent one at Burtse in Ladakh, India and China are now all set to conduct another bilateral "Hand-in-Hand" (HiH) military exercise as a confidence-building measure between the world's largest and second-largest armies.
Sources say the HiH exercise will be held at Kunming in China from October 11 to 23, with India earmarking a detachment of soldiers from the famed Naga Regiment to match their combat skills with People's Liberation (PLA) troops there.
Chinese are not jehadis and hopefully our differences with regard to border will be amicable solved to the satisfaction of both the nations. It will be in the interest of both the nations to maintain peace in the region.
Big mistake. China is shrewd than their counter part. They will quickly grasp in and out of our military capabilities and use the knowledge gain to their advantage in future.
We may not like China. But we can't ignore it.
India has been begging China to hold joint military exercises for a long time. One, for optics. Two, to soften China up so they dont fight and embarass India and accelerate its breakup. Folks, India is in a fight for its existence. Its political platform has failed. How? Simple, after 70 years of independence inheriting an empire, Indian society has gone backwards and is poverty stricken. Democracy has failed as it does not work in immensely populated countries. That is the big picture. China, US and Russia are waiting like vultures to devour the pieces of broken India. It will be an economic bonanza.

chinese are a better friend then pakistan, don't get them wrong..pakistan are clinging to them like a leech. they know if china doesn't support them they are doomed. iran will wipe them out..
It is strange. Indian news say there's stand-off, China says there's no stand-off, Indian government say nothing. Who is lying? Why no one in world talk about it? Is Indian news real news?
Given China's stand on events affecting India (such as Lakhvi and Pakistan) India should not do any joint military exercises with China. China back-stabbed in 1962, and there is no reason to believe that it won't do again. India should rather be involved in the South China sea issue and play a major role there. Who is dealing with India's strategic interest? Looks like no one !!!
Only face making & trust building exercises. But internally both countries are suspicious at each other. On the other hand, it is important to either match them in terms of offensive capabilities or even cross them in future, will give happiness to all Indians :-)
