外文标题：Indians most keen to send kids abroad for higher studies: HSBC
NEW DELHI: Parents are increasingly willing to spend more for kids' education overseas as 88 per cent of them want to send their children abroad for post-graduate studies, said an HSBC survey.
According to the global financial services company, India has the world's highest proportion of parents (88 per cent) who are willing to send their children abroad for higher studies, ahead of Turkey (83 per cent), Malaysia and China (82 per cent each).
In comparison, Australia finds itself at the bottom, where 52 per cent parents are willing to send children abroad for post-graduate studies. For Canada and the United States, the figure reads 53 per cent and 59 per cent, respectively.
this is because of quota system where more than 50% seats are given to non deserving candidates and deserving candidates feel dejected.

it is not because Indian universities are less important, but due to the arrogance of parents who wish to show their world that they are rich and their children are studying abroad........

Many kids who go abroad to study or work don't wish to return. The Parents of these kids often regret their their decision as in later life, when the Parents get old and lonely and don't see their grand children grow up. I have seen many cases in India where Parents spend all their time traveling back and forth to see their kids and grand kids! Many do this while they are healthy enough but later in life the Parents end up being very lonely! Such Parents who send their kids abroad pay a terrible price in the later life; LONELINESS! There are plenty of opportunities in India.

Its a sad point that Indian parents do not have faith in the universities in India. Is it because of fashion that parents want their children to study abroad for post grad courses? Why are they so against study in this country?
