SHANGHAI/BEIJING: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in China's showpiece city Shanghai on Friday for the third and final leg of his three-day China visit that also took him to Xi'an and Beijing.
Modi arrived in Xi'an on Saturday where he held summit-level talks with President .
He then moved to Beijing where he held wide-ranging parleys with his Chinese counterpart on Friday.
On Sunday, Modi will meet with CEOs of top Chinese companies and a number of agreements worth $10 billion are expected to be signed.
Modi will also address the Indian community here before leaving for Mongolia on the second-leg of his three-nation tour that will also take him to South Korea.
State-run newspaper Global Times, in an article on Friday, likened the Prime Minister's visit to China with that of the ice-breaking visit by former US President Richard Nixon in 1972. It said Modi has the capacity to resolve major contradictions between the two Asian giants.

PM Modi is doing a fantastic job and selfless service to India. I would not be surprised if invites President Xi to be the next chief guest at the 2016 Republic day celebrations

All the praise just get Arunachal Pradesh . When they say pragmatic , this is what they mean . China must know that military advantage is never a permanent one . Just as China has become militarily powerful enough to get US respect so can India some day . So where is the urgency for India to resolve the dispute . The inhospitable Aksai chin area is not urgent even though important . China has much to gain economically by being friendly with India and not push India into the arms of US and Japan . Let us if their leaders are pragmatic .
