外文标题：PM's social media account a hit in China
BEIJING: Prime Minister Narendra Modi began directly communicating with Chinese people on Monday after opening an account on Weibo, the Twitter-like social media platform in China. The move came just about 10 days before he is due to visit China.
"Hello China! Looking forward to interacting with Chinese friends through Weibo," the Prime Minister said in his first post. He followed it up with another post greeting people on the occasion of Budh Purnima.
The new account started attracting new followers rapidly and built up a following of over 26,442 by late evening. This is very significant because there was no advance publicity about Modi's arrival on Weibo.
Observers said Modi's following might cross 200,000 by the time he begins the tour at the expected date of May 14. This is entirely feasible because millions of Chinese are on Weibo at any given time, and they are given to retweeting posts all the time.
This will give the Prime Minister a strong platform to convey his ideas about India-China friendship particularly among the Chinese youth.
Modi's second post contained a strong message of peace.
"I wish everyone happiness on Buddha's birthday. Today we remember Buddha ideals and commands. He preached the ideas of harmony and brotherhood and had a vision of a peaceful world. Buddism is a unifying force across Asian countries. It can be one form of strong cohesion as the world enters the Asian era".
He is a media created PM !

Our prime minister is very active in social media platforms and all his actions are planned with a motive. Here he wants to connect to the Chinese young population.

A wise man preparing for a China trip. Through their own social platform, Modi has already made 26442 Chinese fans, which will be increasing day by day.
Really hoping to see visa policy to be eased between India & China and looking forward for better relations and cooperation between the two economic giants.

Proud of our PM !!! He prepares well and learns about their culture well ahead of his foreign visits. You like it when Barak Obama wish you Happy Diwali, so same applies here... chinese will like the same way when Modi greets them about their religion and culture, and win many hearts!!! Advise to some people, hatism will never take you forward.
Arush from Ohio, Modi has an army of social media people paid by BJP to keep this going.
As a true BJP supporter, this has been great news for us. Now it is time to make BJP an international party.BJP should also fight next chinese elections. Namo Namo.
