外文标题：China to hike defence budget by 10% this year
BEIJING: China will raise its defence budget by around 10 per cent this year, a top official said on Wednesday , emphasizing that "lagging behind" leaves the country "vulnerable to attacks".
China's defence budget rose by 12.2 per cent last year, riding on a multi-year run of double-digit increases.
Fu Ying, the spokeswoman for the annual session of the country's top legislature, announced the hike in the defence budget a day ahead of the Third Session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC).
She said the exact figure will be published in a budget report tomorrow.
A growth rate of about 10 per cent could be the lowest in five years.

China's intentions are clear- they have a military ambition. What is comical is their response to Japanese intention to increase military expenditure. Double standards !

Lagging behind leaves one vulnerable for attack.... a lesson learnt by china from history. India is too dumb to learn a lesson from history.
As expected from china related to US president's visit to India.but it won't inject fear in India.
India increased its Budget by 9.3% and China by 10%. India spends 2% of GDP on Defense, China spends 1.6% of GDP on Defense.

India is reluctant to lead Anti-China front as demanded by USA, Japan and Vietnam. Modi is making a strategic mistake.
