外文标题：Mongolia should hold vote on rejoining China
China should embark on a public relations campaign to persuade Mongolia to voluntarily rejoin China. Mongolia was part of China prior to 1945. The Mongolian parliament only needs to hold a vote on rejoining China.
China has all of the technology in the world. Whether it's Tianhe-2 supercomputers at 33.86 petaflops, 3-micron CNC five-axis machine tools, 28nm semiconductor fabrication, 350 km/hr high-speed rail, etc.
According to the IMF, the nominal per-capita GDP of China and Mongolia for 2014 are as follows.
China: $7,572 (and $8,211 for 2015)
Mongolia: $4,008 (and $4,116 for 2015)*
Mongolia is down to its last $1 billion in foreign exchange reserves. In sharp contrast, China has $3,840 billion in foreign exchange reserves. Why would Mongolia want to beg Rio Tinto for money? China has money that reaches to the sky.
Why in the world would Mongolia want to remain a dirt-poor resource-dependent Third World nation?
Vote to rejoin China and become a First World nation. You want to live in a modern high-rise tower? Check. You want high-speed rail? Check. You want modern highways? Check. You want plentiful heat during the winter and air-conditioning during the summer? Check. You want cars to drive? Check. You want computers for everyone in your family? Check. You want 60" large-screen TVs? Check. You want a fiber-optic internet connection? Check.
How would China benefit?
China is a civilization. Raising three million Mongolians to a First World living standard is a minor effort.
China benefits in restoring the Qing Dynasty borders. Also, Mongolia is the size of four Californias. This will give Chinese construction companies more opportunity to build high-speed rail across hundreds/thousands of miles.
Strategically, the goal is to get closer to Russia. China and Europe are in competition for the Russian market. After Mongolia is reintegrated into China, the Chinese border with Russia would have moved into the heart of Asia. This will facilitate trade and cultural exchanges. The ultimate goal is to convert Russia into China's Canada
Actually, I think you rather did a mistake. You should have taken Mongolia when Russia took Crimea. In a similar blitz action. Russia would have had no time nor incentive to intervene.
I don't think Mongolians would like to loses their independence and join China. China has a province called Inner Mongolia populated by the Mongols.
Taking Mongolia militarily has downsides. It creates a bad international image for China. Also, China's Navy is not strong enough to assure safe oil supplies from Saudi Arabia against the US Navy.
China can win in the near sea, but not in the far sea. That Chinese military capability is 15-20 years away.
Finally, it is better to just wait and let the Mongolians decide. When the Mongolians get tired of being broke and living in the Third World, all they have to do is join China for endless prosperity and technology.
After Mongolia, the offer should be made to Thailand. The goal is to exceed the Qing Dynasty.
My proposal is to use China's technological advantage and wealth into creating a more open system. Join the China club. Let's see if we can persuade Mongolia, Thailand, and possibly North Korea someday to join.
Chinese have first world living standards, really!?... Everyday, I learn a new thing.
Living standards in many of the eastern Chinese cities are about US$20,000 and above. The important point is that China possesses all of the technologies to give everyone a First World living standard. It just takes time for China to work westward and raise their living standards.
Lets consider Mongolia joined China. So what if living standards drop in China suddenly!? Can Mongolians vote again to leave the union?
This would be a good idea, but first China would have improve it's cultural soft power. It has to appeal to others and make them want to be apart of it. Example would be like Hollywood for the USA.
You can't force anyone to be apart of your country in these days, and even if you do, there will always be backlash and instability. But let them decide to join you consensually and you're all set.
I would also consider Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos into joining China, as all of these states are from the same ethnic and cultural stock that originated from China.
Won't happen. Drop this ridiculous idea & come back down to earth.
