CHENNAI: A Chennai-Delhi Air India flight was delayed by more than two hours after pilot and aircraft engineer had a difference of opinion which ended up in a fight inside the cockpit on Saturday. The aircraft engineer was injured and was admitted to a private hospital while the pilot Captain Manik Lal has been grounded till investigations are completed.

There were no passengers inside the plane when the incident happened.

Sources said that the plane which had arrived from Mumbai was scheduled to take off at 9.45am to Delhi enroute to Paris and a team of technicians where readying the plane for departure.

The pilot and the engineer are injured.

“Staff were cleaning the wind shield and attending to other technical aspects inside the cockpit when Manik Lal walked in. He was not pleased to see too many people inside the cockpit and started to send them out. The flight engineer V T Kannan reached the cockpit and informed the pilot that the plane was yet to be handed over to the crew for flying. But the pilot refused to pay heed to the explanation,” said an official.

This led to an argument which snowballed into a fight in which the flight engineer was injured and was admitted to a private hospital, he added.

这引起了争执,越闹越凶成了打斗。打斗中机械师受伤,並被一家私人医院收治,他补充说。

An Air India official said,” an investigation has been ordered and the pilot was derostered till a report is submitted about the incident.”

The aircraft is an A319, which is a relatively new plane.

An Air India official said that pilot was changed and the plane departed by around 11.45am because it was flying on an international route.

Meanwhile, an Air India official said that the plane also had a minor snag and that the pilot and the engineer had a difference of opinion about continuing the flight.

A pilot said that pilots have a right to reject a flight if they found it was unsafe to fly after a technical snag.

The pilot has spoilt the prestigious name of Air India. Any problrm with filght engineer should be sorted out in a gentleman way. Adults behave like this is ridiculous in an international flight. Guilty should be punished to tech others.

  1. 看过一个印度机长飞行途中上厕所后进不了驾驶舱,靠隔门喊话指导飞机迫降的新闻,感觉黑货管理飞行一定不会比管理铁路好到哪去,没发生什么大的民航事故应该是傻人有傻福吧

  2. 虎哥翻译有点问题,“领航员”这个词现在民航基本上消失了,因为那是早期飞机需要ADF、DME这种导航方式时,需要专门的人根据航图指引飞行员怎么飞。现在民航都是用的惯导+GPS,早就不需要领航员了。现在一般左座的叫机长。右座的叫副驾驶,有时候会在后面配一个观察员。

  3. 机械师不签字放行飞机,飞行员是不准飞的,机务人员放行都有手册标准的,往大了说为了国家、人民的生命财产安全,往小了说,为了自己的饭碗,机务人员不会在不满足放行标准的前提下放行飞机的。在安全管理角度上来说,应该要提高并倡导这种意识。然而随着新技术的运用,自动化程度的提高,在正常情况下真正需要飞行员操作的情况不多,这就造成了飞行员处理问题的能力,也就是可能有一点很小的问题,并且是不影响飞行的,而飞行员并不知道这会有什么影响,而造成不敢飞。

  4. 其实刚开始瞄了一眼标题,吓得我以为中国游客又打架了。仔细一看才是阿三,才平静了下来。想想中国有些旅客,不敢再笑阿三了。

  5. 老外好像粘酒没够,俄语区,德国,英国,印度,醉鬼大把大把存在,比中国看着厉害多了,介有嘛好的呢?再有就是,国外公司有矛盾也别打架,否则2人都得滚蛋。所以国外我很少见到谁打架,但是矛盾确实哪都有。
