外文标题：Why doesn't China formally annex Aksai Chin?
Why piss off a country (in this case, India), when you can keep the status quo?
"In 1962 China and India fought a brief war over Aksai Chin and Arunachal Pradesh, but in 1993 and 1996 the two countries signed agreements to respect the Line of Actual Control." - Can you fathom the horror of another war?
If you don't think India will fight back, you are more foolish then I already think you are.
What's India going to do about it if China does make it a province?
Why there's a need to annex something that's yours to begin with?
I never heard calls of annexing Beijing either.
It's not officially counted as part of China's area. With it, China would be over 9.63 million square kilometers, legit bigger than the US.
I believe the 9.63m km2 number is included Aksai Chin, but I could be wrong. According to this site China's total area is a little fuzzy anyway.
As far as I know the areas controlled by China are already annexed, and the areas controlled by India are already annexed by India.
Right..While both countries claim the land under other`s control...
How can we "formally annex" land that is legally and physically ours?
Aksai chin would have been with pakistan but they chickened out and gave it to china to insure against India ..sadly for them china played smart ...and now no one talks about pakistan in this matter ..Its India which is bargainining with AC ...
We have control of Aksai Chin. And India lost the 1962 war.
Why would we need to annex it?
This issue interests him because he seems obsessed with China being geographically "larger" than the US.
True China is larger than the US in terms of land area, but we also have a much bigger population.
