外文标题：For first time since 1996, India ranked less corrupt than China
NEW DELHI: For the first time in 18 years, India ranks as less corrupt than China in the annual corruption survey by global watchdog Transparency International.
In its annual survey of 175 countries, India ranks an otherwise depressing 85th, but has improved in the index, jumping 10 places.
在针对175个国家的年度国际清廉指数(Corruption Perception Index)中，印度位列令人沮丧的第85名，但是清廉指数有所改观，上升了10名。
China, on the other hand has fallen 20 places to rank 100th, despite Chinese president Xi Jinping unleashing a massive campaign against corruption, arresting a number of high profile political and military leaders. While India and China were at more or less similar levels in 2006-07, this is the first time since the rankings started in 1996 that India is perceived to be less corrupt than China.
The Berlin-based organisation published its 2014 Corruption Perceptions Index of 175 countries on Wednesday. Turkey and China showed the greatest drops in the index.

Corruption is corruption irrespective of magnitude. We have to bow down our heads in shame for being branded as corrupt nation
Rankings must be done only for G 20 as rest of the countries are small in size and have little impact on world affairs. Nigeria being corrupt has no effect on any body's economy. But China being corrupt can upset world order. ..
Why it went down for China? Because their president is purging the entire bureaucracy for corruption and exposing them to the public. If Modi starts purging our bureaucracy for corruption then we'll probably drop 40 spots. Imagine all the black money from Indian politicians hidden in Swiss banks were revealed to the Indian public.....ouch! Same with the USA, they're concealing corruption within the gov't from the public to maintain their high rating which i don't believe.
Is there any field left where India can dominate china

I wonder whom they had to pay off to get the new, better rating? (Just kidding)

The only difference is, they indulge in single window corruption while in India, it is multi-window. Both are social stigma.
