Unfortunately most of the permafrost region we covered before sun rises, it starts just after Golmud and we left Golmud at 4.00am. So you need a later train to see the permafrost region but still if you see earlier posts you would see couple of snaps with snow all around. Most of part of that region, train line goes through a bridge where they control ice formation by artificial air tunnels and circulating air just below the line

Now we will enter Lhasa town but unfortunately we are entering from North where the characterless Chinese extension of Lhasa you will see first, for actual Lhasa we heard of, wait for a week till I come back from Sikkim

While traveling on Leh to Manali highway I used to wonder the accomplishments of BRO in maintaining this highway in hostile environment conditions. Now looking at the development in the most backward regions in China, it seems that we are centuries behind the develo countries like China.
