Vaibhav, next Lhasa trip can be done without family, so does it matter if one is bachelor or married? You are most welcome in any future trip. Entry with Bike or Car is possible atleast theoretically but certainly invites more paperwork and need support of a reputable agency in Tib side. You can't do anything alone there, may be the bikes would be escorted by Land Cruiser and Guide for which you have to pay, Chinese knows well how to make money

你总是受欢迎的。带上自行车或开车应该是可以的，至少理论上如此。不过肯定会要付出更多的文书工作，至少那边得有信誉好的机构给你支持。单靠自己啥也干不成。也许自行车可以搭乘丰田陆地巡洋舰，不过你得花钱。你懂的，中国人深谙赚钱之道。

LM, yes true that it needs a lot of effort in research and preparation but every penny worth!! If I know the Chinese, I don't think we are making fool of them, they definitely know about this gap and anyway if there is any disturbance / trouble anywhere, they may stop you to enter that area or even if you are there they might force you to leave the place in 24 hours notice, many times it happened in Tib and njiang. But just openly allowing foreigners to apply to Tib might have some technical difficulties as you need permit and specially for countries like India, the rule is vague, the embassies here clearly state only group travel for re gious purpose is allowed in Tib (atleast they are empowered to process such cases) but no where it's clearly mentioned if Indians can enter Tib individually if they have the Chinese visa and then get subsequent permit on top of that. Finally Tib Tourism is big boost in Chinese economy and they definitely won't like to loose that money unless it poses serious threat to their internal security.

I repeat, Chinese don't want you to be honest, they want you to be correct.

No not my idea or I discovered this, all foreigners who visit Tib follow this same principle, If you want to apply for Tib in Visa Application, you need a TTB issued invitation letter ag inst your name and passport which is extremely difficult to get, so people seeks the easier way.

最后，旅游业是中国经济的一大推动力，他们肯定不会想失去这笔财富，除非你会给他们的内部安全带来严重威胁。

重申一下，中国人不需要你老实，他们需要的是你“做得正确”

这不是我个人的主意，也不是我发现的，所有去的外国游客都遵循这一原则。如果你想申请赴的签证，你需要TTB发布的邀请信，而这是非常困难的，所以人们采取简单的方法。

The major risk I perceive is writing my heart out or narrating something I saw but Chinese don't like, just before my trip say 3/4 weeks before I received lot of friend request in FB and emails asking me specifically about my A trip from Chinese people whom I don't know, I didn't answer most of them but if they really read this report and find something objectionable (which they might easily find), I don't know if I get my next visa so easily for China

Chinese are masters of mon oring on every information, may be coin dental but just see on an average any Chinese log in BCMT has got lot many number of views, my log just started got more number of views than many other quality logs and I doubt if all those viewers are genuine readers who are interested to know about China. Suddenly even in this forum I found few Chinese friends hope it's just coin dental

But certainly I would keep expressing my views on what I have seen or experienced in this trip.

出发前3-4个星期，很多朋友在facebook或者发邮件问，特别是关于我在a的旅行，来自我不认识的中国人。很多问题我没有回复，如果他们看了本帖，找到一些有异议的内容（这种内容他们可以轻易找到），不知道我下次申请中国签证是否会那么容易。

就信息而言，中国可谓是专家了。
