外文标题：Escaped convict seen buying sweets in Chinese festival
An escaped convict who broke jail and killed a guard, was spotted by eyewitnesses buying moon cakes on the eve of the mid-autumn festival or moon festival, which took place on Monday. Moon cakes are sweet pastries that Chinese eat to celebrate the festival.
The convict, Gao Yulun, was also seen in Harbin city buying cigarettes and a jacket, Sina News reported. His 74-year old mother was quoted in the Chinese media saying he should be shot on sight because she did not want him to suffer the horrible consequences that would follow if he was caught.
Three convicts in the death row broke jail in China's Heilongjiang province last Thursday. Two of them were recaptured soon after and the third one, Gao, 50, is at large.
Chinese police is using helicopters and has deployed hundreds of officials to catch him. It has offered a bonus of $73,000 for anyone giving information resulting in his capture.
Desperate to catch the escaped prisoners, authorities even released the CCTV footage of the jail break. The footage showed the three convicts walking out in police uniform. But authorities have not disclosed how they killed the jail guard and took away his gun.
