外文标题：Delhi has the worst air pollution in the world: WHO
NEW DELHI: Delhi is the most polluted city in the world when it comes to air quality, according to a WHO study released today.
The 2014 version of the Ambient Air Pollution (AAP) database contains results of outdoor air pollution monitoring from almost 1600 cities in 91 countries.
The national capital has the highest concentration of PM2.5 — particulate matters less than 2.5 microns— form of air pollution, which is considered most serious.
This form of concentration consists of tiny particles that put people at additional risk of respiratory diseases and other health problems, the World Health Organization said.
The situation is so bad in Delhi that its air has PM2.5 concentrations of 153 micrograms and PM10 concentrations of 286 micrograms — much more than the permissible limits.
In comparison, Beijing, which was once considered one of the most polluted cities, has PM2.5 concentration of 56 micrograms and PM10 concentration of 121 micro grammes.

Not only air pollution. Sound pollution is also a health hazard. But, these warnings are on deaf ears. None bothers. Nemesis is round the corner.

Govt should try to take remedial steps to curb the increase in pollution across the capital. From the findings, the need has become mandatory, than being optional
In Delhi what is good? pls tell that also.

Dear P.K, In Delhi, there is nothing that is good & trustworthy. If you are a young girl alone you get raped, if you are new to Delhi, you get robbed by the Cabbies, Autos or the Rickshaws', if you are a good and a new politician in Delhi you become corrupted overnight and furthermore, Delhi is the Indian Capital of White Color Crimes that puts few other criminal countries to shame. Beside all these, there are thousands of other issues in Delhi that qualifies at least to me "situated, not to be good".
The country's capital is becoming a problem city in every respect now. The biggest danger to the health of' the people of course is polluted, toxic air. There are far too many vehicles of all sorts on the roads which emit foul gases all the time. More and more of them are added to the number daily. Metro was expected to reduce the number of cars running on the roads but that has not happened. Something drastic needs to be done to reduce air pollution level. Would the WHO report wake our slumbering government up?

delhi is one of the most polluted cities in the world; beijin and shanghai too but not as much maybe..need to visit china to find out. And Delhi is dirty as well and the chinese keep their cities clean.
I think CNG was made mandatory in capital, then from where so much pollution in the city coming from?
If only the Delhi Administration takes necessary steps to regulate the vehicle population in the city, can the pollution level be reduced and people living in Delhi can breathe clean air
Take that China. At least we are ahead of you in this...
