外文标题：India seeks new route for Mansarovar Yatra
BEIJING: India has asked China to open an alternative route for Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims as the existing one is damaged at different places, said sources.
"An alternate route for the Kailash-Manasarovar Yatra was explored," Indian Embassy in China said in a statement after three-day Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on the India-China Border Affairs meeting ended in Beijing on Wednesday. It did not explain the need for an alternative route.
A report from Dehra Dun said the 107.6 km road from Pithoragrh to Tawaghat is in a bad shape while a bridge, washed away last year, remains to be rebuilt.
Kailash-Mansarovar yatra is due to begin in June and the Indian government is making necessary arrangements for it.

a good move for an alternate route useful in any context
Will China accede to request, India declined politely to allow them search for MH 370 in Hind Mahasagar / Andmaans
India should seek Kailash Mansrovar in exchange for Aksai Chin in Laddakh.
